Wildside NEPA, established in 2009, is a Greek registered sailing charter company based in Kos. It is owned and operated by Steve Hooker (Steve) and John Tydeman (JT). Wildside employs like minded and enthusiastic skippers and team members.
Collectively we have built an infrastructure and tour operator support network across Kos Island, the Dodecanese and the Cyclades based upon goodwill, mutual respect and a high degree of professionalism.
Steve Hooker
Steve, one of the leading skippers in Greece, has spent the last 15 years as a charter boat captain. His clients return year after year. He is one of Kos’ most enthusiastic kite surfers and is well known to many on the island. He knows the Dodecanese better than most having lived and sailed here professionally for the last 8 years and is fluent in Greek. Steve completed all of his extensive Marine training and professional skipper qualifications in Australia. He is a PADI qualified diver and has numerous marine certificates of competence including a radio operator’s license. He renovated the Wildside Apollo 12 yacht, Amazona, over the 2009/10 winter and the Catamaran Kool during the 2010/11 winter season.
John Tydeman
JT provides the marketing, booking and back-office support in addition to support crewing activities. After 25 years in the corporate world of satellite television and media in Europe, Middle East and Africa, he purchased a motor yacht in Athens in 2002 and moved to Kos in 2005.
JT has completed the Royal Yachting Association Offshore Captain’s course, the St John’s Ambulance certification and has a PADI Advanced Open Water diving qualification.
